Google competes with ChatGPT with the announcement of Bard AI.

In the latest news today, Alphabet’s Google announced plans to introduce Bard AI, an intelligence chatbot, soon. Bard AI expects to give stiff competition to OpenAI’s recently launched ChatGPT.

LamBDA to power Bard AI

LamBDA, a large language model from Google, powers the experimental and conversational Bard AI. According to a blog post on Monday, Bard AI will be tested by a limited number of trusted users before being introduced to the public. Google has reportedly engaged some of its employees recently to test these features in response to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which is backed partially by Microsoft Corp. They have included innovative search desktop designs and the Apprentice Bard in their testing.

Bard AI distills complex information

Google CEO Sunder Pichai stated that the company will soon unveil a chatbot with AI features that will distill complex information from multiple perspectives in search into easy-to-understand formats. The new initiative helps users get more from the web by quickly understanding the big picture. For example, you may be searching for blogs posted by people who play guitar and piano as well or conducting deeper research into a related topic.

As an example, Google stated that you can use Bard AI to simplify tasks such as explaining discoveries from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope to a 9-year-old. The recent tests are against the background of employees raising questions about the competitive edge of the search giant in AI with the recent growing popularity of OpenAI-developed ChatGPT.

According to a prominent US news website, Jeff Dean, an AI chief at Google, stated that the company will jeopardize its reputation by providing incorrect information. Therefore, the search giant is moving cautiously compared to a small startup. However, Sundar Pichai said the company will come out with better and more competitive products for use by the public soon.

Bard AI, a chatbot of Google, maintains high standards and safety

The main business of Google is Search. It is also touting itself as a pioneer in developing AI-based products for the public. The project leaders sought more employees to work on these products and get their feedback on how to improve the technology. According to the latest BNN News on Monday, Google’s engineers will engage in rigorous testing and incorporate feedback from external users to ensure the release of Bard AI that meets safety standards, the highest standard in quality, and provides accurate information from the real world.

Bard AI collects fresh information from across the real world and provides high-quality responses to the user’s queries. It will make use of the LamBDA language model, which was developed by Google and released in 2021. According to a communiqué from Sundar Pichai, the company will first release a lightweight version that needs less computing power. Therefore, more users can test it and provide feedback for further improvements before releasing it to the public.

According to a recent release from Microsoft, it will embed the ChatGPT into its Bing search platform to give better answers to user queries. It threatens Google’s core business, Search. It is too early to predict whether ChatGPT or Bard AI will fare well in their capabilities. The public can freely use ChatGPT. Microsoft also offers a paid version called ChatGPT Plus.
