Nobody likes to cancel their plans as it takes so much effort and adjustments to make them successful. My parents planned so much for my higher education in Singapore at Singapore Management University. But because of the Coronavirus fear the Singapore airport has been on hold to avoid the expansion of the disease. Apart from that, my parents are also concerned about my health if I go to Singapore in such sensitive circumstances. The universities have also postponed the orientation programs until the conditions are under control. Now my parents had to cancel the reservation that they had made with Qatar Airways. They were not familiar with the Qatar Airways Cancellation Policy for which they went to the official website and gathered the following information:
Terms and Conditions of the Qatar Airways Cancellation Policy:
The passengers who cancel their reservations with Qatar Airways do not need to worry about the long process as there are different methods through which they can cancel their bookings. The cancellation will definitely be imposed by a cancellation fee if the process is not executed within the stipulated time frame of 24 hours after the purchase has been made. In case you have made the booking with the help travel agency then you will have to get in touch with the agency itself to cancel the tickets as well. If not then cancel the ticket on the official website yourself or simply contact Qatar Airways executive and provide the required to initiate the process.
Guidelines of the Qatar Airways Cancellation Policy:
- In case you have reserved non-refundable tickets with Qatar Airways, then neither portion of the Ticket + YQ/YR will be refunded.
- The passengers who reserved a ticket for the infant traveling with them will have to bear the cancellation charge applied to the fare of the infant as well.
- The passengers who hose to not show up for the flight they have booked will be charged with the cancellation fee or no show fee and then the refund will be initiated after the deduction of a mandatory fee.
- The passengers who have a hold of a combination ticket and then cancel the reservation will be charged with conditional rules and cancellation charges.
The 24 hour Qatar Airways Cancellation Policy:
Just like all the other airlines, Qatar Airline also gives a window of 24 hours to the passenger to cancel the reservation without any cancellation fee to fix the mistake or simply cancel the ticket because of the change of plan. If the passenger cancels the ticket within 24 hours of the purchase then there is no cancellation charge imposed but if the cancellation is initiated beyond the stipulated time then a fee is applied.
How to cancel Qatar Airways reservations?
If you are unaware of the cancellation process just like my parents were then you can follow the steps mentioned below:
- Switch on the device to execute the process and make sure you have an internet connection.
- Now type Lufthansa Airlines in the search bar of Google and press enter key on the keyboard.
- Select the official website of Lufthansa Airlines to open it.
- Select the “My Booking” or “My Trip” section after you have reached the official website,
- Enter the booking ID in the provided field.
- Now enter the last name of the passenger of the ticket in the given field.
- After this, a list of bookings will come on the screen from which you have to choose the booking that you want to cancel.
- Select the “Cancel” button to proceed with the process after you have selected the flight for cancelation
- Once the process is completed you will get an email or an SMS regarding the cancellation made.
- In the end, the passenger will get a refund only subsequent to the deduction of the cancellation charge (if any) in the corresponding account by which the booking was reserved.
In my case I got a reasonable amount of refund as a global alert has been imposed by the WHO (World Health Organisation) and the airline itself is providing flexibility to the passengers.
